According to the website’s video at its homepage, the portable section contains 8mm ( that’s’s 5 / 16 of an inch ) of protection for my portable. This is because I opted for the Neoprine sleeve ( which is optional for the TSA checkpoint friendly laptop bag but which I’d highly advocate ). The sleeve of these designer laptop cases has also been made to be transparent so it does not obstruct the view of the portable. Even the Velcro straps that hold the computer in place in its compartment were made to be transparent! I was told by an Aerovation official that these PC section components were tested by the TSA and passed.
