Crib bedding can certainly improve the looks of a child’s nursery, however, bear in mind that matching comforters and pillows are of no value, in fact they are risky in a baby’s bed. Keep in mind, your pediatrician can answer a lot of your questions about infant bedding, but the best advice is to keep it to a minimum.

Take stuffed animals, pillows and other dangerous items out of the crib before placing the baby in the crib. You can let your child play with toys in his or her crib as long as you’re watching, but the toys should be removed when it’s time for your baby to go to sleep.

You’ll have much more freedom to decorate a toddler’s bed, because then it will make sense to have comforters and pillows on the bed, but by that time, your child will expect to make at least some of the decisions.
